It's snowing!

In Houston anyway... and although it's been known to snow here once in a long while, it's mostly newsworthy because it's the earliest snowfall in recorded history in the city.

Natuba members richardyoo, carlie, and rakesh have documented this occasion with some cool pics from around town:

Thanks for sharing!

And the winner...
Natuba member shawnp0wers! The winning photo (seen below) makes good use of the graffiti feature and as stated in the caption, shows some real truth in advertising.

Congrats to shawnp0wers and a special thank you to everyone who entered the contest! We will be printing t-shirts and sending them to the runners-up!

Be sure to check out the link once you click the picture below... it's great!

It's a bird; it's a plane; it's...

A freak'n homemade ufo/weather balloon? Oh, and it only scared the crap out of millions of people, thinking there was a little boy inside.

But as this picture from Natuba member utmark depicts, if only this balloon could talk.

For those of you unaware, this was a publicity stunt by the little boy's father. They had him hiding in a box in the attic the entire time. Clearly a well thought-out foolproof plan.

T-minus 2 weeks: who wants a Wii?!

Things are heating up in our funniest photos sWiipstakes! We've extended our deadline to November 12th, but that's still only 2 weeks away, so act fast!

I'm gonna need a bigger bowl...

Natuba member nailbiter2 has come across a most unique flavor of soup, as you can read. Good thing there's a picture of a chicken for clarification purposes.

They do have a great company name for this product. I wonder if they make an opposite version... of course I mean hen flavored soup.

Graffiti makeover

Natuba's latest feature, graffiti, has a new user interface! On top of the sleek, new design, we have added the ability to resubmit the new pictures on the spot without having to download/re-upload.

We also have stamps where you can add talk and thought bubbles, and coming soon, a simple color palette to go along with the current, more advanced mode.

This should get you started - we want to know your thoughts on his thoughts. Click the picture, then the "Graffiti" button and enjoy!

Graffiti cherry popped!

Natuba member shawnp0wers has done the honors. He is the first to officially make use of our new graffiti feature!

We encourage everyone to start playing with our graffiti and let us know what you like or don't like about it. Remember, all pictures are subject to graffiti, so have fun with it!

Graffiti is here!

What is it? With graffiti, you can draw, add text, and edit anyone's photo here on Natuba! All photos are subject to graffiti so have fun with it!

Right now, the "save" button downloads the image to your computer; then you can upload back to Natuba. Soon, we will allow you to edit the photo and save directly to Natuba.

Try it on the photo below (you must click it to get to its own page first, but it will soon be embeddable!) or try it on any photo! Your feedback is much appreciated!

Father knows best.

When it comes to parenting, everyone seems to have their own philosophies on what to do and how to raise their children. Throw a teenage daughter starting to date into the mix, and most fathers will fit into one of three categories:

1)Ambivalent/Carefree (unhealthy and no fun)
2)Nice/Accepting (also no fun)
3)Downright scary (winner!)

Scary wins out because it's by far the most fun, and the options are endless. You can intimidate the poor guy, interrogate him, humiliate him... and then there's this:

Natuba member shawnp0wers shared this very unique bumper sticker. As noted in the title and caption, his teenage brother's girlfriend's father (still following?) put this on her car to ward off wannabe boyfriends.

The great thing here is it's a walking... ok, driving billboard meant to ward off all teenage boys at once. Thanks for sharing, shawnp0wers!

Keep your pants on!

"Steve" put some thought into his letter to tenants of this apartment complex and Natuba member corywright has shared his simple request with the rest of us:

Where's the option to roam around pants-less with the blinds closed? Perhaps he had an incident involving an open window and a notoriously pants-hating male. Just a guess.

Thanks for sharing, corywright!

Heads up!

When one gets pulled over by the police, the last thing on their mind is to grab a camera and document the occasion. But that's exactly what Natuba member nailbiter2 did, and we're glad she did.

Not only did this take some quick thinking, her expression is priceless. It's not like she snapped a picture of the police car in her rear view mirror. Not a chance. The window's rolled down, her head's sticking out; great stuff.

Thanks for sharing, nailbiter2; this photo belongs in the Wii contest!

That's company pride!

There are many ways to exhibit loyalty and pride in one's company. Some people talk about the love of their work; others let their work do the talking for them. Then there are those who simply get tatted up.

Natuba member kylistah has shared pictures of such folks, in celebration of Peer 1's 10-year anniversary:

Undoubtedly, the question on everyone's mind is, "who shot J.R.?" but I digress.

"Are those real?" is a close second.

Let's hope those tattoos came from a Cracker Jack box, because even if you don't break up with your company, they could change their name one day, or worse yet, genders. Embarrassing!

But, I hear they do amazing things with lasers these days.

Thanks for sharing, kylistah!

He’s done it again!

Natuba member skysmile is on a roll - he has earned Pictures of the Week honors for the second week in a row.

This is what happens when dog owners:

1) have too much time on their hands and/or

2) no longer have children too young to realize that the fool wearing a sailor outfit (or worse), staring back at them in the mirror is really them.

These pictures speak for themselves.

Thanks for sharing, skysmile!

The Thinker's true origins...

That's right, it's a history lesson people, so pay attention, will ya?! Natuba member skysmile has shed some light on the true origins of Rodin's "The Thinker" sculpture.

This masterpiece, originally titled "The Poet," was meant to represent Dante at the gates of hell, pondering his poem, "The Divine Comedy."

Today, "The Thinker" is synonymous with Philosophy. So that's the history, right? Sure, of his adult life... what about when he was a kid?

Enter skysmile's photo:

In his younger and more vulnerable years, The Thinker apparently still did a lot of his thinking on the can.

If those tiled walls could talk, they'd probably say, "He just wasn't sure if he was finished 'making.' "

Thank you, skysmile, for enlightening us all. Now we must do our part and correct history.

That's a huuuuuuuuuuge disk!

This monstrosity comes to us courtesy of Natuba member jgiardina.

When it comes to technology, size does matter... but smaller is better. The Michael Jackson thumb drive surely holds a few billion times more information.

Chances are this disk could house important documents like your name, phone number, and if you're lucky your full address. Sure, sure, with time comes better technology, but let's be honest - this thing is massive, and might as well be an LP. Thomas Edison managed to fit much more on his version, and it played music... 100 years prior!

Thanks for sharing, jgiardina. I expect to see a 200 pound abacus next week.

It's a tie!

We have two pictures of the week. They both come from Natuba member xmdan. First up, we have a "redneck engagement ring."

The state of Florida proudly presents this beautiful rock that you won't find in your local jewelry store, but you are likely to find one on top of your favorite canned beverage.

Don't want to dish out the dough for the fancy shmancy wooden box nor a 6-pack? No problem; check the ground of your local trailer park. Boy is this lucky gal's brother gonna be jealous of their father!

Next, comes what appears to be the world's first pole dancer.

While prostitution might be the world's oldest profession, stripping must've been a close second. You would think it'd be the other way around, but the hieroglyphics shed some light on this ancient enigma.

The two buildings, sombrero, and eye clearly state the facts: back then, installing poles were more expensive than finding a dark alley in a shady part of town. Some things never change.

Thankfully, we finally have an answer to the age-old question, "Which came first, the stripper or the prostitute?" Now, we can all rest easy knowing it was indeed the prostitute. And you heard it here first at Natuba!

Thanks, xmdan, those are great finds. Keep 'em coming!

Busty Vegas dealer

This week's Picture of the... uhh... Week is brought to us by Natuba member corywright. Here, we see a ridiculous 10-card bust by a Vegas blackjack dealer.

This amazing feat included 5 straight aces. While the dealer may have lost the hand, I'm pretty sure that's still a sign to get up and slowly back away from the table.

Thanks for sharing, corywright. We hope you didn't stick around that table too much longer.

Honorable mention goes to Natuba member rakesh.

That's right, it's a Michael Jackson USB flash drive. Who would've thought the "Thriller" album cover would have made it all the way to a USB drive packaging cover?! Let the shameless marketing commence (as if it hadn't already).

McDonald's new menu item:

The anus burger? Picture of the Week honors goes to Natuba member riggedupnet with this photo that really gets my salivary glands going.

While it is high in fiber and has zero trans fats, it's far from kosher. And for the health conscious, the combo. meal comes with a large tossed salad.

Ba-da-ba-ba-ba, I'm lovin' it.

Baby Shower...

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a... stanky diaper? Natuba member Carlie has earned Picture of the Week honors with this piece of cruel and unusual punishment to plastic baby dolls.

This timeless gift sells itself as "A fun new shower gift and game!"

You do have to admire their attention to detail. There's a target on the back, the bull's eye being a crib. These guys thought of everything!

The package claims babies will catapult up to 15 feet... that's some serious hang time.

The packaging also notes that this "toy" is not suitable for children under 3 years of age, due to small parts. I will venture to guess it is also not suitable for some adults either, for very different reasons.

Thank you Carlie for sharing this picture!

*No babies were harmed in the making of this blog.*

Dear Celebrities...

Won't you join our Natuba Helmet Club? We haven't given up on this dream just yet. After some long, hard thought, we've come to the conclusion that we need more of our own members involved first. Then, the celebrities will surely follow.
If that picture doesn't inspire you, we don't know what will.

Many of you may be asking, "How do I join such a club?" It's simple. Put on your helmet of choice, snap a photo, and upload it to Natuba. But don't stop there! You can seamlessly post that picture elsewhere, like Facebook, WordPress, Twitter, and more. Be sure to tag your tweet with "#NHC".

And of course, don't forget to let your favorite celebrity know about the NHC!

Calling all Natuba Followers:

As mentioned in our previous blog, we want more helmet pictures for our Natuba Helmet Club. (#NHC)

But why keep all the fun to ourselves? We want to enlist the help of our loyal Twitter followers to get celebrities in on the action.

Imagine calling the #NHC home, along with the likes of 50 Cent, Britney Spears, Tony Hawk, and (enter your favorite celebrity's name here)!

Sorry, couldn't help it.

Of course we don't condone harassing these beloved celebrities, but many are known to respond to their fans via Twitter.

For rappers, let them know this earns ridiculous street cred. For the teeny bopper celebs, it's what all the cool kids are doing. For athletes: safety first!

Here is a Natuba Helmet Club celebrity wish list (in no particular order):

Oprah Winfrey, Shaquille O'Neal, Ashton Kutcher, Britney Spears, Ellen DeGeneres, Miley Cyrus, Tony Hawk, 50 Cent, MC Hammer, Snooop Dogg, Soulja Boy, John Mayer, Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Fallon, Paris Hilton, and Kim Kardashian

Pick any celebrity you wish. Please be sure to tag your tweet with #NHC. Thanks for your help and support! Have fun with it!

Ever wanted to be part of an awesome club?

Well, if you've got a helmet, a camera, and a Natuba account, today is your lucky day! Introducing the Natuba Helmet Club.

Natuba member jgiardina (above, left) may be credited for creating this mini-frenzy.

However, we would be remiss not to pay homage to ups_russ for laying the groundwork and breaking all sorts of barriers over a year ago to make all of this possible. Is that beautiful, or what?

Not to be outdone, several members have followed suit and are pictured below.  Let’s keep this alive – we want your pictures!  Long live the NHC!

    Excellent strap placement!              Action shot!

More!  I need more!                     Work it!
